Registration & Admissions
Welcome to Online Education at the Academy of Art University! The Academy is proud to offer to you online the same rich, stimulating educational experience we provide in the classroom, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
New Students
New students must apply and be accepted to the Academy before they may register for classes. Students may apply online or by phone. For more information about admissions at the Academy, contact the Online Admissions Office at onlineadmissions@academyart.edu.

When registering online, please note that online course numbers have a section suffix which includes the letters "OL." To enroll in an online course, make sure the course you choose in the registration system has an OL section suffix .

Admissions Requirements
To apply for our degree programs you will need the following:
Master of Fine Arts (MFA)
- Proof of graduation from a Bachelor's program (or the equivalent in another country, i.e. official college transcripts)
- A portfolio representing the student's work in the area of study for which the student is applying
- A letter of intent that explains why the prospect wants to take on the MFA program
- A resume and letters of recommendation

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)
- Domestic Students: Proof of high school graduation (diploma or GED/CHSPE)
- International Students: English translated official high school transcript
