Program Description
The Architecture programs have been designed to prepare and empower the graduate, through education, and the process of designing and making, to create visual and physical changes to our built environment that enhance its quality and our experience of it. The programs are also designed to prepare students to make a contribution to the practice of architecture and urban design.
The Architecture program currently offers online courses in the following categories: design, drawing, history, and technology. Our faculty brings their professional experience to the classroom. Additionally, the students have the opportunity to learn from architects, artists, engineers, and material specialists through our online class videos. The online architecture program balances intellectual, artistic, and technical abilities necessary for professional practice.
Students are encouraged to engage both theory and practice, achieving a balance between conceptual thinking and practical problem solving. A holistic understanding of basic design principals, history, theory, and technology is emphasized under the direction of a faculty of professional experts.
Design studio critiques are critical to the success of any architecture program. At the Academy of Art Online, we keep this tradition by offering all studio courses with the option of a Virtual Office to provide you with a source of real-time feedback. You can choose to communicate with your instructor through text-based chat, with phone-based voice communication, or via webcam for video support.
