Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation & Visual Effects
Program Description
It is the objective of the Animation department to provide students an education in art and
technology. A unique blend of well-trained art skills that translate to the computer as an
alternative tool is taught throughout the program. Upon graduation the student is ready to enter
the workforce, qualified in a number of positions.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts requires completion of 132 semester units. Students who already have a
bachelor's degree can enroll in our streamlined Second Degree Program that is 66 units without
requiring any Liberal Arts or Art electives.

NOTE: While most online classes in this degree can be completed on either a MAC or PC, a few
classes in this degree require software that is only available for a PC computer.
Please coordinate with your Advisor on the hardware requirements for each degree
program.

Admissions Requirements
The following are general admissions requirements for Bachelor of Fine Arts programs at the
Academy of Art University.
> Domestic Students: Proof of high school graduation (diploma or GED/CHSPE)
> International Students: English translated official high school
