Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design Online
Program Description
The program emphasizes the identification and resolution of design problems and the nurturing of
creativity and innovation. Our goals include placing students in top firms and maintaining a
diverse and high profile advisory board with expertise in high technology, transportation and
furniture design. Also, our department works hard to increase exposure to the design and business
community by participating in and sponsoring high-profile events and workshops. Students are taught
technical skills, industrial design materials, developmental drawing, 3D Model-making and
construction practices as well as expertise in problem-solving to keep them employable. Final
projects include a thorough analysis of design, concept and aesthetic perspective.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts requires completion of 132 semester units. Students who already have a
bachelor's degree can enroll in our streamlined Second Degree Program that is 66 units without
requiring any Liberal Arts or Art electives.
