Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design Online
Program Description
The Graphic Design program emphasizes conceptual development, strategic thinking, mastery of
technique and verbal presentation within an environment that stimulates innovation. Students
develop finely tuned skills in the areas of typography, print mediums, packaging, branding and
identity, web design and motion graphics. Final portfolios demonstrate the total integration of
message and content as well as the highest standards of graphic design.
The Master of Fine Arts requires completion of 63 semester units.

Admissions Requirements
The requirements for all Academy of Art University MFA programs are as follows:
1) Proof of graduation from a BA or BFA program (or the equivalent in another country, i.e.
official college transcripts)
2) A portfolio representing the student's work in the area of study for which the student is
applying
3) A letter of intent that explains why the prospect wants to take on the MFA program
4) A resume and letters of recommendation
