Master of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture & Design Online
The two-and-a-half year program utilizes a unique interdisciplinary approach to MFA Degree
preparation involving studio work as well as academic investigation.
The core of the MFA curriculum in Interior Architecture & Design integrates theory, design
and technology, matched with the highest industry standards. Our candidates are encouraged to
balance mastery of professional skills with individual creativity, leading to innovative design
solutions.
The Final Project allows candidates to select a site and redesign its function and interiors;
concern for spatial issues, design innovation, personal expression, professionalism and attention
to detail are emphasized under the direction of a faculty of professional experts. Final Projects
are exhibited professionally upon the approval of the Review Committee.
The Master of Fine Arts requires completion of 63 semester units.

Admissions Requirements
The requirements for all Academy of Art University MFA programs are as follows:
1) Proof of graduation from a BA or BFA program (or the equivalent in another country, i.e.
official college transcripts)
2) A portfolio representing the student's work in the area of study for which the student is
applying
3) A letter of intent that explains why the prospect wants to take on the MFA program
4) A resume and letters of recommendation
