Clearing Your Browser's Internet Cache

Please view the directions for the internet browser you are currently using. If you cannot find your browser on this page, please contact the Online Help Desk for further information. If clearing your cache does not solve your technical issue, please contact the Online Help Desk for further support.

Internet Explorer 8 on Windows

  • Go to the “Tools" menu in the menu bar at the top right and select "Internet Options."
  • Make sure the “General” tab at the top is selected.
  • Find the section titles “Browsing history” and click “Delete.”
  • Make sure “Preserve Favorites website data” is UNCHECKED.
  • Check “Temporary Internet files,” “Cookies,” and “History.”
  • Click “Delete.”
  • Restart your browser.

Internet Explorer 7 on Windows

  • Go to the “Tools” menu in the menu bar at the top and select “Internet Options.”
  • Click “Delete Browsing History.”
  • Click “Delete cookies.”
  • Click “Yes” when prompted.
  • Click “Delete files.”
  • Click “Yes” when prompted.
  • Click “Close” and restart your browser.

Firefox on Windows and Mac OS X

  • Go to the Tools menu on the menu bar at the top.
  • Select "Clear Recent History."
  • Under "Time Range to clear," select "Everything."
  • Click the arrow next to "Details."
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked:
    - Browsing & Download History
    - Cookies
    - Cache
    - Active Logins
  • Click "Clear Now."

Safari on Mac OS X

  • Go to the Safari menu at the top and select "Reset Safari."
  • Click the Reset button.
