Liberal Arts: Italian Odyssey

June Intersession: May 28 - June 17, 2011

This three-week course will expose undergraduate and graduate students to the art and culture of a particular city or region of Europe and introduce them to the larger context of European history and artistic culture. Students will explore the extraordinary architecture of the chosen locality as well as visit the extensive collections of paintings, sculptures, and decorative objects housed in Europe's world-renowned museums. Participants should be aware that extensive walking will be a necessary part of the program. Students will earn three units in Liberal Arts or Graduate Studies and fulfill one art history or history graduation requirement.
