ANM Online Awards of Completion

The School of Animation and Visual Effects offers several Online Awards of Completion for those students who want to add new skills without enrolling in a degree program. Award of Completion and personal enrichment students may have these courses credited toward a degree at the Academy of Art University, pending portfolio review and approval by the department director. Degree-seeking students must satisfy existing degree requirements.

All classes are three units each unless otherwise noted.

Please Note: Online Awards of Completion require that all courses must be taken online.

Character Design & Technical Direction

The Online Award of Completion in Character Design & Technical Direction is a personal enrichment program designed for students interested in acquiring the basic and advanced programming scripting skills to become a professional technical director of animation. This Online Award of Completion requires completion of five undergraduate courses in animation.

Computer Graphics

The Online Award of Completion in Computer Graphics is a personal enrichment program designed for students interested in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the animation profession.

This Online Award of Completion requires completion of five undergraduate courses in animation.

Maya Applications

The Online Award of Completion in Maya Applications is a personal enrichment program for beginning as well as advanced artists interested in acquiring the basic to advanced technical knowledge of the leading off-the-shelf software package, Maya. Today a working knowlege of Maya is critical to success in the animation profession. The Award of Completion teaches students to work in this software that produces award-winning games, 3D animation, and visual effects for the entertainment industry.

This Online Award of Completion requires completion of four undergraduate courses in animation.

The Online Award of Completion in 3D Animation is a personal enrichment program designed for students interested in acquiring the basic to advanced skills necessary to become a professional character animator.

This Online Award of Completion requires completion of five undergraduate courses in animation.

This Online Award of Completion requires completion of five undergraduate courses in animation.

The Online Award of Completion in 2D Animation is a personal enrichment program designed for students interested in acquiring basic to advanced skills in classical, hand-drawn animation. The program requires completion of five undergraduate courses in animation to provide the student with a solid understanding of the history and techniques of classical, hand-drawn character animation.

This Online Award of Completion requires completion of five undergraduate courses in animation.

This Online Award of Completion requires completion of five undergraduate courses in animation.
